Hello,

My name is Ms. Kido, and along with Coach Moises Arreola, Co-Athletic Director, we are the Athletic Directors at Huntington Middle School. We would like to welcome you to another exciting year of HMS Athletics! Whether you are a returning student or new to Huntington, we have activities for almost everyone!

Huntington offers two athletic programs:  

🏀💃🏈⚽🎾🏐 Intramurals

This program is open to all students, regardless of skill level. Once you register for an Intramural sport, you may also be eligible to try out for a Travel Team.
 

🏆🏀🏃🏈🏓⚽🥎🎾🏃‍♀️🏐🤼 Travel Teams

Travel Teams are made up of selected student-athletes who represent Huntington against other schools in the 210 Middle School League. Please note that not all students who try out will be selected for a Travel Team.
 

📢 IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING

Please read the following before signing up:

  • Complete the registration form with your parent/guardian.

  • Take note of the first meeting or tryout date. (Each sport has different start dates.)

  • You may register for more than one sport, but a separate registration form is required for each sport.

  • Be realistic about your schedule and any potential conflicts.

  • Please read all of the information before clicking on the registration form.
     

💻 Registration Tips

  • A student SMUSD email account is required to register. (Example: xxxx@student.smusd.us)

  • Parent or personal email accounts will NOT work.

  • Before clicking a registration link, sign out of all other Google accounts.

  • If you continue to have trouble, try using Incognito/Private Browsing Mode in your browser.
     

🏈 Intramural Flag Football

Open to all interested students, no experience necessary to participate!

  • Monday, August 17 – First Practice (3:00–4:00 PM)

  • Friday, August 21 – Uniform Distribution/Team Selection (3:00–4:00 PM)

  • Friday, August 28 – First Game (Check the Athletic Website for the game schedule.)

🏐 Intramural Girls Volleyball

Open to all interested girls, no experience necessary to participate!

  • Thursday, August 13 & Friday, August 14– Skill Evaluation

    • 6th Grade: 3:00–4:00 PM

    • 7th/8th Grade: 4:00–5:00 PM

  • Monday, August 17 or Wednesday, August 19 – First Practice

  • Friday, August 21 – First Game (Check the Athletic Website for the game schedule.)

💃 Intramural Hip Hop Dance

Open to all interested students, no experience necessary to participate!

🏃 Travel Team – Cross Country

No Tryout Required! Open to all interested students!

  • Monday, August 24 – First Practice (3:10–4:00 PM)

🎾 Travel Team – Tennis (Experienced Match Players Only)

Tryouts are open to students with previous match-playing experience only.

  • Tuesday, September 1 – Last Names A–L (3:00–4:00 PM)

  • Wednesday, September 2 – Last Names M–Z (3:00–4:00 PM)

  • Thursday, September 3 – Make-Up Tryout (3:00–4:00 PM)

The first week of practice will begin the week of September 7.
