We envision a culture where our student-athletes are proud to be a part of the HMS Track and Field Program. We strive to create a positive personal, social, and athletic experience for our students. We are deeply passionate about individual and team development. We try to ingrain great work ethic and responsibility for their future endeavors.
Our motto is “Start Strong, Finish Stronger.”

HMS offers 2 levels of Track and Field, Varsity and Junior Varsity, to compete in the 210 Middle School Athletic League composed of local middle schools in the surrounding cities. Boys and girls will practice together.
Practice Times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 3:00pm-4:30pm. Track meets will normally be held on Thursdays.
The Track team will be composed of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. All who sign up to participate will have a spot on the team but NOT guaranteed a spot to compete in the track meets. All students are encouraged to come out and join the program regardless of experience.
Goals and Expectations: The track program is looking for committed kids that are willing to work hard, be coachable, and train to get better everyday. We encourage our young athletes to step outside of their comfort zones and try new things. We strive to create a good athletic experience for the students to build confidence for the future.
Commitment: We expect all of our athletes to be responsible in the classroom as well as on the field. All participants are required to speak to a coach if they are unable to make a certain practice or event. Attendance will be taken at every practice and Track meet.
